Day 7
March 7, 2014
Today we started by waking up at 5:00AM. We went to get some coffee and crackers before our boat ride through the canals. We got on the boat and before we could go through the canals we had to get permissions from the rangers. We got to the canals and we got to see the different kind of wild life. The highlight of the boat trip was seeing the three kinds of monkeys in one tree. We then returned to the Evergreen Lodge. We had breakfast and then got ready to go to on a hike. We got another boat to get to the hiking area. It was a short trail because Tortuguero has mainly water. We saw a sloth with a baby sloth in a tree. Some of us ate leaves and termites. Then we had some free time till lunch.
We had lunch and then we went to our cabins to hang out. We just talked among one another. At 3:00PM we went to the Canopy zip line. We were prepped and instructed by the people working at the canopy. We then took our first zip into another area and climbed a ladder to the top of the canopy. The next thing that happened was we went down the next zip line and another. We stopped and went on what is called the Tarzan Swing. Then we finished off the rest of the zip line. Then we had some more free time until dinner time. Some people went to the pool, others just went to their cabins, and I just worked on some things and talked to my dad.
