Day 4

March 4, 2014

Today some of us woke up late. Some of us went to breakfast around 7:00AM. After breakfast we went to our professors’ house. We spent most of the morning working on our Research Projects. Some helped out with the Testing Water experiment or the Frog experiment. My group went to help the water testing group but something happened we didn't expect.

It was Larry, Trey and I; we decided to go to our cabins to put away the pound of laundry detergent we bought. Then we went back to try and catch up with the group. We eventually stopped and worked on Larry and Trey's research project. We examined the part of the rain forest we were to see what classification it belonged in. Then we just kept walking on the trail to see if we could catch up with the other group. We went of the trail and found a house that was abandoned. We looked around and then just went back on the trail. We kept on walking and hit the 600 meter mark. We decided to turn back. After a while of walking we came back to the cabin. We saw some of the others from the Water Testing Group. They had turned back after they had gotten their test results.

After relaxing for a while we headed to the cafeteria for lunch. We ate lunch and just talked for a while. After that we headed back to the cabin to do some laundry. We split the loads into Guys and Girls. From there we split into Darks and Lights. That is how most of our free time was spent.

After finishing laundry, I left with Drew to go catch up with another group. We went through a path we went through for the Nature Walk on Monday. We went a little too far and almost got lost (this would be the second time today for me). So we turned back and they had just arrived to where we were at. We helped them with their Frog Experiment. Then we went to get more water. We went to cafeteria to play sum UNO. This game gradually escalated and we sang parts of Bohemian Rhapsody. We had gotten word of a soccer game going on. Then two of our UNO players left. Eventually we all left. I joined in for the remainder of the soccer game. We then went for dinner. I was worn out and exhausted. The last thing we did was go to a talk in Reptiles and this person is working on his PhD at Auburn and is doing his research here at La Selva.
