Day 3

March 3, 2014

I'm on the highway to hell. On the highway to hell. Highway to hell. I'm on the highway to hell
-AC/DC-"Highway To Hell"

To start today’s blog I woke up and it felt like an AC/DC day, so as I am writing this blog I am listening to AC/DC. Today was a day of exploration in Costa Rica. We had breakfast as normal and then got a sack lunch. We prepared to leave for Volcán Poás. It was an hour and half ride. We saw a lot of the country side of Costa Rica.

We arrived at Volcán Poás. We walked all the way to the crater. There we saw the crater (from a certain point). We then took silly pictures and then went back down to the museum. We saw some of the history of the volcanoes. Some of us went to the Gift Shop and the Cafe area to look around. We then went to eat out sack lunch and continued to our next destination.

On the way to our next destination we stopped three times. First stop was at the top of the mountain to take pictures from the top. Then we stopped to buy some fresh strawberries and other stuff. We then stopped at a Waterfall to take some more photos.

Before we reached our destination, we made a stop to find out prices for zip lines. We then went to Tiribina. What is unique about that is that they make chocolate from the cocoa trees and it is home of Costa Ricas longest suspension bridge. We saw the process of how they make the chocolate and tried some in different forms. We drank it, ate the beans, and the chocolates themselves. We also got a history lesson of the history of chocolate.

After a full day of exploring Costa Rica, we went back to La Selva. We had dinner and then went to where our professors stay. We talked about our day and the Research Projects.
