Day 2

March 2, 2014

Today started by being woken by Howler Monkeys at 5:00AM (6:00AM Eastern Time). We then went to get Breakfast which was Rice, Beans, Fruit, and Platano. Then we went to prepare for out nature hike. We made sure to pack plenty of water. We were split into two groups (Nine per group). It was a learning experience. We got to see some animals in their natural habitats. Our tour guide (whose name is Albert) had a telescope type thing to magnify on certain areas. We saw a hornet's nest, iguanas, turtles, and sloths with the contraption. Everywhere we went, we saw ants. We had the opportunity to see a viper and a basilisk. After a three hour nature walk we went to the cafeteria to eat lunch. We had beef, rice, beans, and squash. After we ate and talked we went to have some free time. I went to the cabin and fell asleep.

After we had some free time, we went to our professor’s cabin to discuss what our Research Projects were going to be. We then conducted some of the projects. Then we had dinner (Spaghetti with meat sauce, and green beans. After dinner we continued with the projects. We saw leaf-cutter ants carrying all sorts of size leaves, and bugs being attracted to light. What day today has been?
